Went to a wedding this weekend. Mass at 1PM. Lasted 40 minutes. Spent 20 minutes in the parking lot, then drove to the cometary right next to the hotel where the reception was being held. Not because I like graveyards but because this huge cometary is right in the middle of urban sprawl. It's peaceful. 40 years ago, there was the cometary and farms. Now there is just the cometary and consumerism. Took some photos of the mountain side views, then got gas, and then to the hotel. Checking in was simple, got a first floor room. Waited til 4:20 before the reception started.
Very small affair. Food was good. Yuengling was on tap. And i drank a lot of it. I danced. I then sat down, as I am a bad dancer. Then I remembered something I had seen somewhere..."Dance like no one is watching" So I did. Jump Around by House of Pain came on. I put the arm up, the head down and jumped. danced with a friend's wife. Did the cha cha when the Grease medley came on. At one point the wife of friend said 'That one gal was dancing with you earlier' She had been, but she was married. In fact I asked the groom at one point who there was not with someone. He said that the single women had already left. Oh well. I danced some more. The bartender was cute, and I do to a twist of fate, had a plan to see what she was doing after the reception. Near the end I was her only customer, everyone else had stopped as they were driving, not I, I had a room. The plan was foiled because i was chatting with the groom and in that 15 minute span, the bartender had cleaned up and left.
It was a good time. Bride and Groom look like they are deeply in love. They met via eHarmony, so I guess it does work from time to time. i took a ton of pictures and some video. At one point someone commented how beautiful the church was, and one of the older relatives started in on how EVERYONE knows that angels are male, and the ones on the ceiling had female faces. Also one of the songs we sang from the song book, was credited to the Luthern Song book of 1 something or other. I found that funny. I had not been to church since wow forever. I still know the Lord's Prayer though, although I wanna keep going where the Catholics stop.
So I am done traveling for the next few weeks. This next weekend is for me.
